4 Free CLE: June 12/Stillwater, MN: The Impact of Digital Evidence

Computers have dramatically changed the way companies and their clients do business and how cases are investigated and litigated. In this session, Mark Lanterman discusses what the pervasive use of computers means to investigators, prosecutors, attorneys and their clients. Mark will cover an overview of the benefits of and the burdens imposed by electronic evidence, including the discussion of several case studies and options for presenting electronic information. He will also cover non-traditional evidence sources, such as the iPhone, iPad and social media.

Speaker:
Mark Lanterman is the Chief Technology Officer of Computer Forensic Services. Before entering the private sector, Mark spent 11 years as a police investigator and as a member of the U. S. Secret Service Electronic Crimes Taskforce. He has routinely assisted the Secret Service, FBI and the U. S. Attorney's Office as well as hundreds of law firms and corporations with computer related investigations. Mark has been recognized by the Director of the U. S. Secret Service for his contributions to law enforcement.
Mark has worked on several high profile cases, including the Tom Petters investigation, the Denny Hecker investigation, the Trevor Cook investigation, the Polaroid bankruptcy, the Paul McCartney divorce and most recently the Intoxilyzer source code analysis. Mark is currently retained by Chief Federal Judge Michael Davis and Federal Magistrate Judge Tony Leung (US District Court-Minnesota) as their Court's neutral expert.
