Washington man stable after scooter crash

WASHINGTON -- A 79-year-old Washington man was listed in stable condition at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury on Sunday after State Police said he fell off his motor scooter Saturday afternoon on Ferry Bridge Road.

Serge Miller, of South Street, was riding north between Kirby Road and Route 109 when the accident occurred about 4:15 p.m., police said.

Miller was reportedly conscious and alert when he was found lying on the shoulder of the road by a Ferry Bridge Road resident, State Police said. He was flown to the hospital by LifeStar helicopter, according to police.
