>>> brief update on our weather. it's hard to separate the remnants of hurricane isaac from just plain late summer rain , it was a lot of each today that rained out the u.s. open in new york. it's also a big factor this week here in charlotte, a big chance of precipitation every day this week, including thursday when the president's speech is supposed to be in an outdoor open stadium. the democrats say they'll go ahead with it, unless, of course, it becomes a public safety issue. as you see, there's a lot of rain out there. there is a new tropical storm . leslie is 600 miles south of bermuda. not moving much, but kicking up the surf in places like puerto rico .
