ABBYY Business Card Reader Now Enables ... - Wirth Consulting

The newest update of ABBYY Business Card Reader, available at the Apple AppStore starting today, allows Apple iPhone users to export contact information obtained from business cards photographed with their iPhones to their accounts in the Salesforce CRM cloud solution. According to ABBYY, the application creates a new Lead and automatically fills in the respective fields with contact data captured from the card.

Salesforce users can connect their accounts with ABBYY Business Card Reader during its first launch (the registration data are stored within the program) and specify which contact fields will be filled in automatically by the app, and which ones manually filled in by the user. Captured contacts can be edited when required and saved to Salesforce as a new Lead. Images of recognized business cards that were already used for data export to the cloud are labelled with a special ?cloud? icon in the Business Card Reader archive.

Based on the ABBYY Mobile OCR Engine technology, the new version of ABBYY Business Card Reader can also accurately ?read? business cards in 21 languages, including multilingual cards. It also allows iPhone users to search for additional contact information on their contacts via social networks (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter), and online maps.

ABBYY Business Card Reader 5.0 for iPhone ($4.99) and ABBYY Business Card Reader 5.0 for iPhone Professional Edition ($69.99) can be purchased via the Apple App Store (accessible through iTunes). Salesforce integration is enabled by default in ABBYY Business Card Reader 5.0 for iPhone Professional Edition, whereas in ABBYY Business Card Reader 5.0 it is available under subscription, but is free during a promotional period (until December 31, 2012), and paid for afterwards.

For corporate users, there are two ways to acquire a time-limited fully functional version of the app with the Salesforce support available by default: via the Apple App Store Volume Purchase Program for Business, and on individual terms through the Enterprise Program.

Supported devices include Apple iPhone 3GS, 4S, 4 and 5 with autofocus.
