Well this place is cosy! Things have changed a lot since I first joined which was an age ago.
Since then I have learned a lot about myself as well as my industry although it always feels like a drop in the ocean as there is soooo much to get to grips with.
Well now I'm back! With a difference, I am proud to have 2 business partners, something I've learned is that I work better with others than on my own.
So for the past 12 months and after personally planning and researching the concept for 6 years, we have finally created our first product for the Toy & Games market (before it was purely for the education market).
This time round things are more hands on, before we were utilising mailing lists, doing mail shots- well it was less personal.
Now thanks to social media it feels like we can grow in response to the demands of the public, however as we are just launching at Toy Fair in 2013 we would like to learn how best to translate that into sales.
I've got a database of Independent shops that I am building contact with to gauge their interest and needs in their area for our games but also to go directly to the consumer through some of the consumer fairs ..this all costs a lot of money so not sure what to do in which order best to do it in.
Does anyone have an idea of ways we can reach the card game market in the mainstream. Our target market are currently boys and girls aged 8 to 12 years. However we do expect it to appeal more for boys but we aren't too sure yet until it is 'out there'.
Thanks for any help anyone may have.
