Sports Clinics Keep The Kids Moving This Summer
4 January 2013
THIS January Ipswich Sports House will be running their first ever Holiday Sports Clinics in Ipswich Rosewood and Goodna for local young people.
These clinics will offer three full days of sport and activities and will be supervised by qualified staff from Ipswich Sports House.
Parks, Sport and Recreation Committee Chairperson Councillor David Morrison said that the sports clinics were a great way to get kids active over the holidays and fire up their interest in sport.
"Team sports are a fantastic way for young people to keep up their exercise and to get involved with a healthy recreational pursuit that can really build their confidence," Cr Morrison said.
"These sports clinics will be offering three full days of activities including rugby, cricket, swimming, netball, and softball right across Ipswich.
"Keeping our kids healthy and active is really important in the fight against obesity and poor health.
"These clinics are a great step in the right direction.
"These programs are designed to be fun and enjoyable, to get kids active and to introduce them to the world of sports."
Each clinic will cost $65 for the first enrolled child and $40 for each subsequent child. This fee includes full supervision and all meals.
